San Luis Obispo boys basketball

San Luis Obispo fielded two boys basketball teams in the Bay Area Spring Jam recently in Oakland. The eighth-grade team won the AAU tournament with the ninth-grade team finishing second.
The San Luis Obispo Wildcats have played in five out-of-area tournaments this spring, with trips to Santa Monica, Northridge, Fresno and Dallas

Paso Robles Girls Softball All-Stars win SLO All-Star Tournament
The Paso Robles Girls 12U All-Star team, the High Rollers, rolled over the competition this past weekend winning by an aggregate score of 57-12! Saturday saw Jenna Wookey pitch a 14-0 shutout. Then Nico Jolicoeur came within 2 outs of a no-hitter, settling for a 9-1 victory over Clovis. Sunday play didn't slow the High Rollers down as Jenna and her teammates came through with another big win, 13-1 over Nipomo. The semi-final gave the High Rollers a scare, but Nico gutted out a hard fought 8-7 clash with Goleta. The final saw Nico lead the High Rollers to a 'mercy rule' triumphant against Orcutt 13-3. Another main contributor to the weekend was Alyssa Meade who went 12 for 14 with 4 walks.
The High Rollers will be at home this coming weekend as Paso Robles host's games at Barney Schwartz Park. visit www.PRGSL.org for a schedule.

Nipomo All-Star Softball represents the community well with a strong showing in home Tournament
The Nipomo Youth Softball League All-Star teams represent the community well at their home tournament held the weekend of June 7th.
The Ponytail All Star Team captured second place falling in a close game to the Goleta Thunder
Hope Goodall pitched masterfully throughout the tournament giving up only two hits over the two days. Kamailee Neel earned $100 for herself and 100 cookies for her team by smacking a home run in Saturday's pool play (per a deal brokered with her dad). Division I All Star team captures the championship
The Nipomo Aftershock dominated the competition during the home tournament en route to a resounding Championship game victory over the Atascadero Little Hounds. Carly Tunks pitched her way to three victories over the two day tournament while Nakaila Fuggs pitched a complete game in the Championship game. TWO LOCAL DRAGON BOAT PADDLERS WILL REPRESENT THE UNITED STATES IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
Neil Tardiff of Avila Beach and Mike Sullivan of San Luis Obispo made the United States dragon boat team which will compete at the 2009 International Dragon Boat Championships in Prague, Czech Republic. The two paddlers earned seats on the United States team by placing first as team members in the 200 meters, 500 meters and 1000 meters races at the United States Dragon Boat Federation team trials held at Marine Stadium in Long Beach from July 25 through July 28. Teams from throughout the United States competed to earn seats on the United States team.
Tardiff and Sullivan also won two gold medals in the 2008 United States Dragon Boat Federal National Dragon Boat Racing Championships by placing first in the Grand Masters division (50 and older) and first in the Masters division (40 and older) held at the same time as the United States team qualifiers.
The two paddlers are members of Avila Beach Pale Kai Outrigger Canoe Club and the San Diego Dragon Boat Team.
