A sip of wine can be transcendent, but this week, it will lead to even higher enlightenment than usual: In honor of National Library Week, from April 13th – April 18th, Castoro Cellars in Paso Robles will donate all tasting fees to the Paso Robles Library Foundation, a non-profit established in 1997 to support the library’s commitment to continued library services. At the end of the week, Castoro Cellars owners Niels and Bimmer Udsen will match the earned funds.

The fourth annual benefit event, Castoro Cellars’ “Taste for a Cause” has turned drinking wine into a philanthropic activity—with great rewards for the community. “We encourage everyone to make Castoro Cellars’ tasting room a stop on their wine tasting trail,” said Paso Robles City Librarian, Julie Dahlen. Last year, they presented the Library Foundation with a check for $1,563; but, still wanting to do more, they say, “This year, Castoro Cellars would like to at least double last year’s donation!”

About the Paso Robles Library Foundation:
The Paso Robles Library Foundation has made possible the creation of new collections and the expansion of existing collections in all areas of the library: reference tools, music CDs, books on tape, books on CD, DVDs, and much more. Over the years, the Library Foundation has also been a proud sponsor of many popular library programs and activities, such as “Brushmarks” teen juried art exhibit, the children’s summer reading program, author visits, book signings, and more.

Tax-deductible donations to the Paso Robles Library Foundation help to continue, enhance, and increase such programs for the greater improvement and cultural enrichment of the community.
