Local creek water quality

Local creek water quality

If you have ever walked to a creek and said, “I’d never swim in there, it so dirty” or “Why is there so little water?” or “How can I help to protect this creek?”, then this is the training for you.

Central Coast Salmon Enhancement invites community members of all ages to attend a FREE Water Quality Monitor Training session from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, November 1 at the Salmon Enhancement Office.

Learn why water quality monitoring is so important, how the information collected is used and discover what is happening in our local waterways. This will be an informative, fun, hands-on training that includes an introductory session in the classroom and monitoring practice in the field. At the end of the training join our volunteer Science CREW and monitor a creek of your choosing every month.

Space is limited! Sign up now by calling Central Coast Salmon Enhancement at 473-8221 or send an e-mail to nicoles@centralcoastsalmon.com.

Salmon Enhancement also offers Trout in the Classroom for regional public and private schools, raises 70,000 King Salmon annually for the sport and commercial fishing industry and works with regional, state and federal groups on a variety of fisheries and watershed projects.
