Proceeds from Local Art Sale will Benefit the Boys & Girls Club of SLO North County
The Boys and Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County is proud to announce it’s next fundraiser. Photographer, Samson Pinto of Paso Robles, has donated all proceeds from the sale of his framed prints, “Needful Things - A photographic exposure.”
Recently the club announced an urgent shortfall in it’s operating budget that nearly closed their doors. Pinto’s donation remedies the problem in the short-term. But long-term funding is still needed as the club does not receive government or National Boys and Girls Club funding and relies solely on community donations as the main source of funding for the club’s operation.
The grand showing will take place Thursday, July 31, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Joebella Coffee Roasters in Templeton, California. The photographs will remain on sale during the entire month of August
The photographs in this exhibit were taken at the Conservatory of Flowers in San Francisco. When asked what inspired the exhibit and the donation Pinto answered, “These photos always appealed to me. Nature creates such beautiful things and sometimes we tend to walk right past them. I am donating the proceeds because I’ve been blessed with so much that I wanted to give back to the community.” The exhibit consists of six large pieces sized, 27’’ x 40.’’ and 18 smaller pieces sized, 9’’ x 12,’’ both framed. Joebella Coffee Roasters is located at 1121 Rossi Road, Templeton, California, next to Trader Joe’s. They are open seven days a week.
The Boys and Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo is currently looking for volunteers to join the Board of Directors in their efforts to support fundraising activities and daily operations of the club. To learn more about the Boys & Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County go to www.bgcsloc.org.
