It was 92 -- 92! -- when I got home to Shell Beach last night around 7.

92! Shell Beach! 7 at night!

It was actually hotter on the coast than it was in SLO. My car's temperature gauge showed 86 in Avila Valley then climbed up to 92 as I headed over the hill to the coast.

I think my house was about 130 and never seemed to cool down. This is why I moved away from the East Coast!

This morning wasn't much better. I was already sweating as I was trying to get ready in the morning. And by the time I got to work on the the south end of SLO, the car gauge showed a not-so-pleasant 96.

Don't even get me started on Paso.

I went to Taft yesterday...it was actually cooler there than SLO.

However, Cuyama was scorching.

I have no AC in my car or at home. When I got home yesterday it was 85 in my house, and cooled to an all-night low of 83. Today, I called my wife and she said it was already 87 in our house. I seriously don't know how I will be able to sleep with it that hot--not used to this. I'd rather drive somewhere cooler and sleep in my car.

Too damn hot for me. This morning definitely felt hotter than yesterday morning, but they both had that still, sticky, "it's only going to get worse" feeling.

I think it's the lack of cool, moving air that's really aggravating the heat here in SLO. Yuck.

Like gstuff, I have no air conditioning (this is the Central Coast, why would we need it, right?), so I've been trying to open all the windows, crack open the doors, and run the electric fan every night to cool down the house. Lots of cool drinks. Staying up late so I can actually sleep later.

If it gets much hotter, I'll be pretty miserable.

Hot town, summer in the city
Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty
Been down, isn't it a pity
Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city

All around, people looking half dead
Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head

But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright

And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights
In the summer, in the city
In the summer, in the city

Cool town, evening in the city
Dressing so fine and looking so pretty
Cool cat, looking for a kitty
Gonna look in every corner of the city
Till I'm wheezing like a bus stop
Running up the stairs, gonna meet you on the rooftop

But at night it's a different world
Go out and find a girl
Come-on come-on and dance all night
Despite the heat it'll be alright

And babe, don't you know it's a pity
That the days can't be like the nights

Oh when the sun beats down and burns the tar up on the roof.
And your shoes get so hot, you wish your tired feet were fire-proof.
Under the Boardwalk, down by the sea
On a blanket with my baby, is where I'll be.

(Under the Boardwalk)
Out of the sun.
(Under the Boardwalk)
Man, we'll be having some fun.
(Under the Boardwalk)
People walkin' above.
(Under the Boardwalk)
We'll be falling in love under the Boardwalk,

Boardwalk.

From the palms you hear the happy sounds of the carousel,
and you can almost taste the hot-dogs and french fries they sell.

Wonky

Well, I finally got to see what you look like on the "latest video", singing one of your reditions of "Smile Awhile".
