The Double Bubbles secured a sweep of the 8-and-under Atascadero Girls Softball League and tournament titles Saturday after a hard-fought 5-4 extra-inning victory over the Red Rockets of Templeton.

After letting a 4-1 lead slip away in the bottom of the third, the Bubbles pushed across a run in the top of the fourth only to watch the Rockets nearly rally back again.

With the game in the balance, only one out and the bases full of Rockets, Bubbles' third baseman Giana snagged a soft liner, robbing Templeton of possibly a game-tying hit. She then turned, scampered back to the bag and doubled off the runner who was moving on the pitch, simultaneously ending the game and igniting a wild celebration.

At the awards ceremony Saturday night, the Double Bubbles received their trophies and posed for the media, their undefeated season complete at 11-0-3. Congratulations Double Bubbles!
