I didn't think I had anything to be excited about today, but then I remembered that season three of "The Hills" was premiering tonight. At last! Yay!!

For those of you who don't know, "The Hills" is unscripted docudrama that follows a group of socially conscious 20-somethings on a journey of self-discovery as they struggle to balance the whims of youth with the responsibilities of adulthood. In between, they volunteer at soup kitchens, reunite missing children with their parents, and negotiate cease-fires between warring factions in developing countries. It's quite an inspiring show; if you haven't seen it, you should go take a look. You won't be disappointed. It's absolutely exactly as I've described it.

CONFIDENTIAL TO FANS OF "THE HILLS":

I totally lied up there, how awesome is that?

Anyway. So, I really like Lauren. Team LC all the way. But I often find myself wanting to shake her. Hard. Especially in this episode.

"Let's get our fun pretty ball gowns first, and run the errand that we were explicitly instructed to do by our boss later!"

"I need something to wear to a smoky nightclub filled with drunk stinky Parisians ... How about this super expensive gown I'm supposed to wear to this big-deal ball tomorrow for work? I'll just alter it really quick ..."

"No time to unplug the curling iron — mustachioed Parisian rock stars await!"

But I guess she needed to make up some kind of drama in Paris, so as not to be upstaged by Heidi and Spencer's pouty faces and bickering. Oh, and speaking of Spencer, how funny was that scene when his sister was telling him how clueless he is: "I mean, I guess you can just write a list of everything you've done and do the exact opposite." Ha! Spencer just got told by his crazy little sister. Best part of the episode!

Worst part of the episode: All those unwashed, hairy, skinny-jean wearing, cigarette smoke-blowing Paris dudes. Ugh.

You know, I could talk for days about this show, but something tells me that no one here cares, so I'll stop now. And go watch "The After Show"!

I liked it when Whitney was like, "we can find boyfriends in 2 days." Ha! Marianne and I got super excited when we noticed that the Tivo started recording the Hills. So excited we started watching it immediately and had to sit through the commercials.

What I don't get is how LC thought Paris would "change everything," and they were only gone for a week.
