Battle of the mix CDs

Battle of the mix CDs

So features staff member Justin and I are locked in a brutal feud over who has made the best mix CD. You can see details in Justin's blog post and in my own.

I chose to make a CD containing what I consider the most awesome British songs I could think of. Obviously limiting myself to a singe CD worth of songs proved difficult.

Here is my track listing:

  1. U2 – Where the Streets Have No Name
  2. The Who – Baba O’Riley
  3. Genesis – Land of Confusion
  4. Simple Minds – (Don’t You) Forget About Me
  5. Jamiroquai – Canned Heat
  6. Tears for Fears – Head Over Heals
  7. Queen – Under Pressure
  8. Led Zeppelin – Immigrant Song
  9. Coldplay – Clocks
  10. The Police – Roxanne
  11. Ozzy Osbourne – Crazy Train
  12. Derek & the Dominos – Layla
  13. Elton John – Daniel
  14. John Lennon – Imagine
  15. Stereophonics – Handbags and Gladrags
  16. Pink Floyd – Comfortably Numb
  17. Radiohead – You
  18. Dire Straits – Money For Nothing

Now, I understand that this may be a slightly controversial list, for a start there are no Rolling Stones, or Beatles songs on there. The reasons I picked all those songs can be found in my blog post.

What do you think? What songs would you have included on your "Most awesome British CD"?
